To
Whom It May Concern: Life is a series of changes, it is when you are
able to adapt to those changes, that you can in part determine the next course
change and how that change will affect your life. I am now at a changing
point in my life, I should say a self-imposed change, a major course correction,
moving from a plotted DR position to a fix, I now know where I am and where I
need to head. Sailing for over 25 years and having loved each wet and wild
minute, a few years back I earned my U.S.C.G license and that still is a proud
day in my life. With these facts in hand my destination is from a marketing
expert to a fulltime sailor, delivery skipper, a Captain. I would like to be
included on your list of Captains for hire, so I may make this change and reach
my new destination. No, I don’t expect to be named a Captain immediately; I
understand insurance limits and the things I need to learn. But once I am
involved I am a fast and effective student who in record time will be at the
head of the list. Let me know how I can fit into your immediate and future
needs. I am a few hours away from Newport, RI, Boston and the balance of New
England ports. Looking south those same few hours bring me to New York City, New
Jersey and add a few more hours allow me to reach Chesapeake Bay. I hope that
my next course is plotted to your office for an interview. Sincerely,
Captain Thaddeus B. Kubis

Sailing Experience:
An accomplished sailor, I hold a U.S. Coast Guard Masters
license (50 gross ton) with a towing and sailing
endorsement. I have been sailing for over 25 years and have
raced and cruised along the entire east coast of
the United States, the Bahamas, the Mediterranean and the
Caribbean. I have owned a series of
sailboats including a Tartan 33R and a Tartan 40, I currently
own a J-32. In early 2010 I will begin the first of a
three-part course to be awarded Yachtsman Offshore certification.
Over the past few years I have made a
series of long haul trips including sailing from Fort Lauderdale
to Annapolis, Mallorca, Islas Baleares to Rome,
Italy, a six day trip to the Bahamas, an 8-day from Grado, Italy
to Palermo, Sicily and series of long weekend
trips on my boat to various destinations in New England.
